The Worldwide Women in Innovation, Incubation and Technology Summit
(W-WIITS) which is an initiative by AB4IR, is a dynamic platform dedicated
to fostering a culture of representation, action and accessibility for women
in technology, innovation, and incubation. The summit celebrates the
achievements of trailblazing women in the sector while inspiring and
empowering the next generation of digital leaders through a range of
engaging activities including masterclasses, panel discussions, exhibitions,
diva spotlight, and networking sessions.
The inaugural W-WIITS took place virtually August 2020 during the heart of
Covid, attracting over 700 participants and 26 speakers from 12 countries
across 5 continents.
The second hybrid summit was held in August 2021 as a hybrid event (with both virtual and physical participation). It saw an increase in engagement, attracting 1,553 participants and 35 speakers from 13 countries across 5 continents.
The third hybrid summit was held in August 2022, attracted 2788 participants
and 29 speakers from 11 countries across 4 continents, with the
addition of physical exhibition stalls.
The forth hybrid summit was held in
August 2023, attracting 2895 participants and 31 speakers from 13 countries
across 5 continents.
The fifth hybrid summit was held in August 2024,
attracting 3415 participants and 31 speakers from 6 countries across 2
continents.
Our Focus
The summit will be addressing four key United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) namely:
Gender equality, decent work and economic growth, industry innovation and infrastructure and reduced inequality.
Furthermore, there will be:
Seasoned women speakers from around the world in public and private sector
Different plenary sessions Aspirational and inspirational real life women in business dialoguesVirtual exhibition – showcasing of products and servicesThe summit addresses four key United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): Gender Equality, Decent Work and Economic Growth, Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure, and Reduced Inequality.
It features seasoned women speakers from across the globe representing both the public and private sectors. Attendees engage in various plenary sessions and take part in aspirational, real-life dialogues with women in business. A virtual exhibition also showcases a diverse range of products and services.
According to the Women in Digital (WiD) scoreboard:
Only 18% of ICT specialists are women and the gender gap is present in all 12 indicators measured.In the past ten years when measuring the use of the internet, The gap between women and men who go online has narrowed from 7% to 2%.
